The new challenge.

by Tone022

I finally passed NCLEX-PN a few weeks ago. I have looking for some jobs. I know that LPN jobs in the hospital is scarce these days, but I am dissappointed still. I am interested in working for VA hospital, since they accept LPNs. I applied a couple weeks ago. They called me back this week and asked me what field of nursing I was interested in. They then said that they would put me on file and let me know when a job opening came up. Is this a good sign? How long did you guys wait to get a job? Thanks.

I think it's a good sign . Hopefully a position will become available and you will get a call. I appiled for a job one week before my graduation, got a call three days after I submitted the application, and was hired the day after graduation as a GPN. I was very very very very lucky .

How do you like the VA hospital? I am thinking about applying to the one that is walking distance from where I live. Are you working on the floors or elsewhere? Is it like LTC or acute care?

I know several people who work at the VA and it took 3-6 months to get a call and an interview. It's a lengthy process the majority of the time, from what I hear.

Good luck!!

Well, I am still on the job hunt. I have been bothering the hiring nurse at VA hospital. I called 3 weeks ago to show I am still very interested in working there. I also called a few days ago and left a message, she called me back, but I was out jogging and she told my folks she was just returning my call. Is this a good sign?
