Seasonal flu clinic job in kaiser or nursing home regular job

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hi! Im a new Lvn working at a convalescent hospital with 30-71 residents. Needless to say, I get frustrated at times. I have been working there for 3 months now. Recently I applied for a seasonal flu job in kaiser, I know its temporary so Im having a dilemma as to whether take the seasonal job or stay in the convalescent hospital. I have an interview for that seasonal job on wednesday. And I really want to be with Kaiser but I dont know if I will be accepted to other positions when that seasonal job has ended. Anyone here worked as seasonal flu nurse for kaiser? Pls give me your thoughts. Thank you in advance.

Hello!

I'm in the same situation you're in right now! I've been working for a SNF for about a week and Kaiser recently called me for a temp/on-call position. Of course, I would rather grab the opportunity with Kaiser, but I'm not too sure if they will keep me once flu season is over. Can I please get your insight and advice and let me know which route you took? Thank you so much. God bless

I was diligent and showed my manager that I was worth keeping as feedbacks from them is a big thing. Make sure you make a lot of hours so when you apply for internal positions you have a chance. Once the contract is almost over i started applying to the internal positions and got lucky. Almost all of us in our team got in. It would really depend on your performance.

Congratulations to you! God is good! May I ask if you worked at both the Kaiser flu clinic and your other job? or did you quit your previous job and just focused on the flu clinic? Sorry I have so many questions, I'm just not sure how I'm going to be managing my time. And I'm also a international graduate from the Philippines and wondering if Kaiser will accept international grads for permanent positions in the future?

I quit my other job cause snf can be really tiring. I focused on the flu clinic and made myself always available. I was working 5-7 days 8-12 hours and they send me to other locations as well. It will all pay off. Good luck and thank you!

Hi, I heard Kaiser is hiring LVN's again in their flu clinic. Someone gave me a number to contact, but I believe the contact person is an agent and is taking a $10 pay cut. Would you guys mind sharing where to apply for this directly and not theough an agent?
