Depends on the hospital.

I have worked postpartum, have friends in another health region who do work in L&D (much smaller hospitals).

I attended clinicals at two hospitals that hired LPN's in L&D/Postpartum. For a new LPN, I received advice saying Postpartum (mother-baby??) might be better to start, than L&D.
