Please Help!!!!

hi LPN4U. First of, I wanted to say that congrats on getting your LPN. My advice, (although I have never been interviewed for a job but my family members have), is to make a up a list of questions that the interviewer might ask you.That is a logical, but not precise way to prepare for the interview. Ask the interviewer about staff employment rates, job promotions, salary and benefits, and approx pts per nurse. That way, you can get a feel of what the atmosphere will be like. Ask,two days before the interview, other nurses whom are working in the department you are, what's it's like. Bring a lists of skills that you are able to perform, DON'T tell them to the interviewer; this makes the interviewer believe that you are trying to impress them. Here's a list of DO'S and DON'TS for the interview

DON'T chew gum
DON'T sit until told to do so
DON'T shake the interviewer's hand loosely; it should be a frim shake
DON'T try to sell yourself
DON'T give yes or no answer
DON'T eat during interview
DON'T crititize other employers or teachers
DON'T show that you are nervous or CONVEY that you are. The interviewer knows that you are nervous and expects this.
DON'T talk on your cell phone

DO maintain eye contact throughout the interview
DO be seated when told to do so
DO a firm handshake
DO give a list of skills that you are able to preform
DO send a thank you letter within 24 hrs after the interview whether you get hired or not
DO provide brief concise answers that requires a little more than yes or no answer.
DO smile occasionally
DO turn your cell phone OFF
DO maintain good posture and sit in a relaxed but not clumsy way

my dear tweety dress professional in a conservative suit according to time of year and weather permits remember shes a busy lady let her ist down first then you sit down looking at her eyecontact facial expressions body language allow the don to direct the conversation interview answer directly,honestlywith confidence she know your a baby lpn as we callit in the profession you will be okay let her lead and follow her lead dont get into your personal life boyfriends and stuff like that if you are married she will ask you about children and hours make sure you are able to work 12hour shifts with every other weekend off thats the way it generally is she will let you know if there is day care
research the hospitals history knowledge is power then you will get most of your answer be on time no perfume no long nails no dangling earrings or big chains no big hunks of diamond rings you would be surprised how some nurses dress on interviews bring a book or mag medically related topic to fill in time haave lady briefcase with resume and a pen always a pen in black ink try to get the eraseable ink and shoes match purse small heel skirt one to two inches below knee remember you are representing yourself have your personal references professional referances one should ve a instructor who likes you for reference on your computer type bullet sytle resume no longer one page use all club affiations such as this as associations also if you go to any nurse affliations note this good luck to you iam a lpn with over 20 years exp youll be fine dear heart
