Yes there is an online recert but you still need to do the skills in person so what's the point.

I renewed mine online through a link on the American Heart Association website. I paid like $17 and then read the info and took a test. Then printed out the paper that says I passed the test and then I had to find an AHA instructor for the skills exam (can't remember the cost of the skills exam). Anyway, it saved having to sit in a classroom for a few hours.
