OK to apply to ads looking for medical assistants?

I've seen a few ads in my area looking for either an MA or LVN. My question is, would it be okay to apply to ads that are looking for an MA (back office) meaning there is no mention of them wanting an LVN? Hope this makes sense. I had one interview at a doctor's office and to be honest, I'd rather work in this setting even if it means lower pay.

Hi! I feel the same way! I just graduated, and would also like to work in a Dr.s office. I hope that someone can offer some good advice! My thought is, why would they NOT want an LVN instead of an MA? Thanks!

I don't see what you have to lose by applying. However the employer might not be able to pay you normal LVN wages. In my area there is a significant difference between MA and LVN pay, like $5-10+/hr. Personally, I would not be willing to settle for MA wages.

I feel the same way, I would apply, especially if I were a new grad having a hard time applying for other positions. But, as kat7ap said, the wage may be the problem.

i think it should be ok as well. As faras the pay is concerned i work at a GASTRO clinic as an M.A. and get paid 18 dollars in fairfield, cali. Its not that much for you as an L.V.N. but it is a good start.
