Moved from NYC to NC...where are the jobs?

I'm not sure why I'm having a difficult time finding a job. I'm going to assume that it's because in NYC I worked in a hospital for about 8 years, and here in NC LPNs seem not to see the inside of a hospital. It's seems LPNs are in clinics, LTC, and Home Care. Now I have experience in clinics, LTC and in Home care, however they were only per diem basis, but I do have it. I have been an LPN since 2004. I've been here a year and send at least 5-10 resumes a day and only secured 2 (YES 2 interviews) and in both interviews I was told i had a great deal to offer but they are looking for someone with clinic experience. I'm about ready to apply to Target! or even Walmart! One year and close to no income is not anyway for a LICENSED PROFESSIONAL should live. Any suggestions?
