Hi! I have worked at a LTC facility for 2 & 1/2 years now. I am currently in nursing school (BSN) at our local hospital adjunct with a local university. I applied for a job at the hospital as a float LPN and had to get the hospital "approval" since they are weeding out LPNs slowly, but surely. Anyway, I never really thought I'd get a call back, but I did. It'd be nice to work in a hospital esp. with me going to school plus the benefits are really great. But the downfall is that I will miss my residents so much. What do I do? I will add the facility I work at is alot of drama, I have caught a nurse diverting narcotics about 3 months ago and I reported it to the admin/DON, yet she still has a job and still steals them (I've seen her with my own eyes!). Anyway, I'm young, I'm only 23, and everyone that works there tells me to get out now because the place offers virtually no benefits. (They finally agreed to pay for half my insurance from a private co.).
I don't know, its just hard. Anyone have any advice? I won't be graduating with my RN until 2011.
Thanks!
