LPNs @ Maxim Healthcare - No Overtime?

by DS1122

I've heard that Maxim Healthcare pays its home healthcare LPNs straight time for hours worked over 40 in a week, instead of paying them overtime (time and a half) for hours over 40. Has anyone else heard/experienced this?

I don't know anything about it, but I know if anyone ever called the Department of Labor that would be over VERY quickly.

I work for Maxim in Virginia and put in 48 hours a week. Yes, I get 8 hours of overtime. As far as I know, only CNAs get straight time for overtime. Plus, nurses get a week's paid vacation for 420 hours of work.

Maxim Healthcare has an office in the area I currently live in. How are they to deal with as an employer? Do they offer any benifits? Do they ever pay housing for LVNs willing to relocate? Do they offer to use experience as a Nursing Apprentice/CNA/NAPP/PCA or whatever else they are calling nursing students working in the hospital? I am interrested in traveling and was hoping to find someone with some experience in this area.

I haven't had any problems working with Maxim (since '98). The office here offers, health, life, dental, vision, disability insurance. Also paid vacation and retirement plans. I have a friend out of Florida who works as a travel nurse with Maxim and has been satisfied. She's currently in Arizona working on reservation. Best thing is to stop by the local office there and see what they offer. Good luck.

Thank you so much. The information from others in the situation I am trying to go into is much appreciated and I take it with a lot of weight. I am going to visit the Beaumont office...Thanks and God bless.

Ok I live in Miami and there have been at least 3 lawsuits that have been served on Maxim due to the fact that they refuse to pay overtime to anyone. Believe me when I say that be careful if you decide to work for this company.

I work for Maxim in Alaska currently and I have had very good experiences with them. They always pay overtime, and they offer a good benefit package as well.

This is a cordial reminder for our valued members to please refrain from posting potentially libelous information about public entities such as nursing agencies. Keep in mind that, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all!"
