S. Indiana $15-ish/hr in LTC, $13-ish/MD office. Hospitals? Not worth my time. They pay and use us as techs. Around $12/hr. That is all for new grads. At about the 1 year mark, it all goes up about $1/hr.

In the Balto. DC area LTC and hospital jobs usually start low to mid 20s, per diem close to $30 for new grads. Dr. offices less but I'm not sure how much. Good luck.

Our cost of living is pretty low. My husband and I make around $60,000/yr and live pretty comfortably. Median income in this county is $30,000, so it's not as bad as it looks.

I work as an aide at a nursing home in allentown,pa in the float pool and I make $16. I was hoping to make more then $20 being an lpn or it's not worth it. I know the lpn's where I work start at $23 but I wanted to see what other areas are like.

Thanks

Here in central Mississippi, a new grad LPN can make $18/per hr evenings at an assisted living facility or nursing home, $16 days, and $14/per hr in most good clinics. Those Doc-in-the-box corner after hours clinics pay $8-$11/per hr. Hospitals,,if it's money that is your primary goal, don't bother. I could be 17 yrs old, a high school drop out and make the same amount of money working the french fryer at Mickey Dees. I tried the higher paying ASL job but hated it, finally settling in at a nice specialty clinic and love every day! There is always some give adn take ina job, you simply have to find YOUR niche'! Good luck!

I graduated (LPN ) in 1993
and made $9.50 straight out of nursing school. After a few years I discovered our company was paying $2 more an hour to the "kids" than I was getting. Get this...I was training these children straight out of high school who made at least $2 more an hour!!

Anyway, depending on your location (political environment), I suspect a recent LPN/LVN graduate can earn $11 to $22 an hour. I recall working a stressful & unrewarding position in a skilled NURSING HOME for many years before I "fell into this Plumb job."
Please note: Even an Assisted Living Facility can rip the life out of you....

In Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, LVNs earn $18 to $25 hourly at nursing homes, and $13 to $17 hourly at area hospitals. Home health pays $25 to $35 per for 1 hour visits.
