Re: LPN student seeking advice/encouragement.
I'm 26.. have a bachelors in business, associates honors of science/biology, and now a LPN... I do plan on going back.
You have to remember tho LPN school isn't like normal college. LPN school to me reminded me of highschool without the hall passes, cute boys that weren't gay (no offense to anyone), and you actually couldn't smart off at the teachers.. which sucked sometimes lol. And that year seems to drag out, but before you know it flies by.
To me and my personal preferences LPN is not enough for me. I do want my BSN, and if I make it that far, I will go for my MSN and specialize in something. The reason it's not enough for me to just be an LPN is 1) I have time 2) No kids and No man isn't going to tie me down to keep me from what I'm wanting to do with my career. 3) and I'm positive the NO KIDS thing isn't going to change unless my hysterectomy went totally wrong and they took out the wrong organ.. which I'm sure they didn't.
It would be your own personal preference. As an LPN tho these days there's not much advancement for them and the way health care is these days. You may come down the road later on when you wish you would have furthered your career and you could be doing a different job cause you are tired of pushing that med cart and bending over to the very bottom of the cart to get someones meds out
And when you do go back for your BSN or MSN it's like regular college, you are not there at school m-f 6 hours a day, there will be less drama (I'm sure if you don't see drama in your class this semester wait until second and third haha).
Like I said, it's just your own personal preference.

I wish you luck. Hang in there too. the first semester is always the roughest and it's all down hill from there
