You can also just scroll a few posts on this forum and look at some older posts. The same question was asked just a few days ago.

You have to indicate what area you are in for anyone to be able to give you pertinent info. Otherwise, you can find threads about pay and go through them. The subject is popular and always coming up.

I am in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Starting pay for LPNs/LVN new grads in this area widely varies. Nursing homes pay between $18 and $23 hourly, hospitals and clinics pay between $14 and $18 hourly, and home health agencies pay between $20 and $30 per hour.

In order to help you more effectively, we really need to know your geographic location. A city and state would be of great assistance when answering your focused question.

I think the pay varies greatly, depending on where you live and where you work. I work in a town with one hospital and 3 nursing homes. I started at $23.10/hr in a nursing home. IF the hospital was hiring LPNs, they make a little over $15/hr.

Depends on your location. Where i live Dr office pay around $12-14 hour and LTC anywhere from $16-$20, Home health $20-$25 and believe it or not hospitals start new grads at $12/hr. Good Luck!!

sounds like i need to move. lol when i started out five years ago, i was making 10.60 an hour, after three years i was making 12.50. i took a year off to persue employment outside the healthcare industry, and i'm making 13.45 now, back at the same facility. i have a few things working against me though. i live in a small town, the facilty is union (which isn't bad thing, it just works against me where i'm at) and the facility is only 62 beds.

]Here in NYC LPNs are generally offered 43-52k to start....anywhere from $23-28/hr generally. Pay in other areas may be much less due to the fractional cost of living. =]

Thats similar to the DC area also. I started out at $23. My friends that did perdiem in LTC were making $28 but that was a few years ago.
