Jan 13 by kgill1204I just read that they have a refresher course that you can do through South Dakota university that I approved through GA BON. It's 600 dollars and it can be done online. You only need 160 hours , 80 theory and 80 clinical. You will of course have to set up your own clinicals, but I'm sure that any long term care facility will be more than happy to let you do the 80 hours there an they may even hire you after words. If they deny me that is my plan of action. It ridiculous that people have to do this, but 160 hours anit that bad and really if u do 40 hours a week that's only 2 weeks of clinicals, and the 80 hours of theory can be completed at you own pace. So you may be able to get this all done in less than a month. Good luck. -

Great! I can finally get licensed. The only problem is, I can't find anyone that offers them here in Ga. Can anyone help me or give advice on this? If you're having problems getting licensed in GA, then maybe try getting licensed in one of the surrounding states by GA? I think if you can get a license transfer in one state somewhere in one of those "compacts" or w/e they call them, you will then automatically be licensed in the surrounding states as well.
However, just grabbing in the dark here.
As far as refresher courses... out of my league. -

Now I live too far...but I am close to sc and fl...I'm just going to apply in sc next month...they don't require half the stuff ga does. I want to work in Hilton head...
