Like the other threads about salary I think we need to have:
Area you live - Myrtle Beach, SC
    specialty - community health
years of expearience - fresh out of school
level (rn, lvn, etc) - LPN
    rate of pay - $14 p/hr
    HOURS - 8:30-5:30 m-f all holidays off

I could get much higher pay from other places in this area, but not with the benefits and job satisfaction that I have now. I love my job and thats more important to me. I'd quit a job that paid me $30 an hour that made me miserable or depressed and doubt I'd ever leave the job I'm at now, because I feel so warm and fuzzy when I leave at night.

    Base Rate: $17.50
    W/ Shift Diff W/E 7-3: $18.50
    W. Shift Diff W/E 3-11: 19.50

I work weekends only 7a-7p and have a strange shift differential b/c the facility is set up for 8 hours shifts. It's also a Baylor position, so I work 24 hours but get paid for 32. When you factor in my shift diff plus baylor it comes out to $25/hr.

This was my post in December. As of yesterday I have new salary information as I accepted a new job to get out of the nursing home! Will be a cut in pay, but am looking forward to acute care nursing instead of LTC. This is a great career move for me. I'm very excited!!

    Experience: 1 year
    Base Rate: $15.45
    W/E Shift Diff: $1.25

OMG!!!! I had thought that Florida had the lowest wages. Apparently SC is even worse than Florida.

Yep! LPN's just aren't respected like they should be. At my hospital there is very little that we don't do. We basically do the same as the RN's and they make more and double! It's not fair at all! I agree that they should make more than LPN's but not that much more!

CNA's in my area make more than $11.00.

Look for another job where they value you and appreciate your skills.
