jobs for new grads in illinois

by Maisie

I am considering becoming an LPN. I have been reading post from new graduates stating that they are having a problem finding jobs. Is this true of Illinois? Will it be difficult when I graduate to find a job with no experience? Where do LPNs mostly work? I have noticed that I rarely see them in hospitals.

Of course, there are LPN's in LTC, but one of my classmates worked at Christ Advocate for a time (Tele). I can also say Home Health is open.

I've heard that St. Alexius in Hoffman Estates is starting to staff LPN's on their mother baby unit to pass meds. this is freeing the rn's up to do more assessment level functions apparently.
