Jealous?

Forgive me, I'm not all that up on LPN/LVN practice issues or struggles thereof because when I graduated all my local hospitals were doing the 'RN only' thing so I really have no first hand perspective of the good work you all surely do nor ever witnessed the struggles you write about on these boards regarding other's negative perceptions sometimes.
That said, I wanted to pop in to let everyone know that for the last, gosh, almost year or so now, I have been SO jealous of the LVN's in my area! Like, greeeeeeeen envy. No joke.

I'm getting burnt out w/ER and my military gig is, well, really it's just the military right now and I'm thinking I need a change. But literally almost EVERY appealing nurse job I see on Craigslist or just out and about is advertising for LVN's only. I know CA nurses make big bucks but I'd be more than willing to take a bit of a cut to do these jobs that are apparently, to my constant and utter torment, going begging for lack of LVN's. But nope, huh uh, not allowed to....ARGH.....
You guys get the good psychs, the rehabs, the clinics, urgent cares, cool community center and parks and rec. stuff.
Boo you guys!
Anyway, just wanted to share....

I see this sometimes. I have a girlfriend who was an LPN that told me she decided to become an RN because she saw so many interesting opportunities for them. After completing her program, she saw the opposite...interesting opportunities advertised for LPNs only. Go figure, she said.

I never felt limited as an LPN regarding opportunities. I think there will be enough to keep me occupied and learning within my practical nursing license. Based on the experiences I encountered since obtaining my license in 2006, I saw from the beginning that being an LPN will not be a dead end street for me. I have enough to keep me busy, productive and learning for some time to come. Yes, it is a rare to see RNs post and say this, but, in any event...have faith. You will discover things that you really like to do and will get paid even more for doing it.
