:( No one called me for an interview or called me at all..I dont think they hire new grads anymore..I applied everywhere where they had any opening for a LPN..I am depressed and thinking that no one will call even for an interview..:( :( :(

Trying calling them back. Thats what I did. I even emailed a few places.

Your school doesn't offer job placement assistance? How many job applications have you completed? How many resumes have you mailed or faxed? Have you shown up to facilities in person and applied within?

I completed a California LVN program one year ago and received many job offers.

That is crazy! what part of cali are you in?

It's TRUE!! They are looking for LVN's with at least 6 months experience! It sucks but i'm sure there are places out there that are really looking for people. Just keep trying.....at least thats what im doing. I applied in person and online....someone is bound to call back, right?!?!?

I am sorry to hear that. I have been reading your progress from student to passing the boards. Have you tried agencies?

It is true, most hospitals in Southern California do not hire LVN's and the registries want you to have at least 6 mo. to 1 yr. experience. But, the convalescent homes hire new LVN's and the turnover is huge. I found a home health agency that hires new grads. But this is Los Angeles County. Bala Shark, where are you? Lets talk, think I can help. I too felt desperate.

I am really shocked. Have your tried nursing homes? LPN's here (pa) in my region have employees calling them left and right..ESP IF YOUR A NEW GRAD.

Oh, thank you for the support...I got a phone interview from an outpatient/inpatient clinic.. And the person did not seem to want to hire me or see me in person..:(But at least I got the call..I guess I have to keep on trying.:(

Very discouraing being unemployed..I did try nursing homes and I just got a email reply that, they will file my application :( "ouch"

Maybe you should consider moving to Connecticut :-). There are plenty of jobs. My friend graduated last June already on her second jobs because so many to choose from.

I thought cali was the place to be when you are a nurse. I guess not.

I was in your same shoes a few months ago, and believe me I know how you feel.

I had such a hard time finding someone that will hire me as a new grad with no medical experience. I think that finding a job is a full time job in itself. You have to be driving around and constantly be calling and following up on your application.

My problem was that I was too picky. I had to swallow that up and tackle my biggest obstacle, which was getting some experience under my belt. I settled for a job at a snf that was in desperate need of nurses.

Just hang in there.
