How to handle backstabbing boss

Help! I'm in a dilemma. I like my position as a nurse at my current job but I can't trust my DON AT ALL!!! I've had so many people warn me about him. I don't know what to DO. I have never worked at a place and heard so many negative comments about one person i.e him!! He smiles at you and pretends to be nice but he is so good at pointing fingers at all the nurses when he makes a mistake just to cover himself. I don't want to lose my license!! I'm scared to look for something else. What if I get myself into an even worse situation!! Any advice?

You need to find another job. When you work in an environment like this you put your patients and your license at risk.
It is not worth it. Get out now before any harm is done
