Help !!!! New to neuro!!!!

by Yveillz

We'll I've been an Lpn for 5 years now . My experience is in geriatrics, subacute care also wound care you guys know the typical stuff .. I'm currently charge nurse in an assisted living which I thought would help me grow but it does'nt. I recently interviewed for an office position that pays good but I'm afraid because it is in a neuro-surgeon private practice.. I know, I know...I learned this in school. But you know how it is when your main focus has been in geriatrics for so long .Don't get me wrong, I loooooove Geriatrics .But I don't think there is much room for growth and besides this doctor is wanting to train me to be a nurse liason (good for networking) .I don't want to pass pills for the rest of my life .I figured I could refresh my knowledge by doing some online research on neurology.

Does anyone here work for a neurologist? What are some key things I should refresh my self on..I don't want to look like a fool!!! HELP !!!

I can't help you with anything related to neuro, but when I intereviewed for a postpartum position I cracked open my old textbooks and read all the chapters related to that. It was a good refresher! Good luck!

I forgot to mention that I was offered the job,but in the interview they asked me nothing about neuro( I think they were in a rush to hire). I'll be the only nurse in office and have responsibility over the MA'S so I wanna be sure I know what I'm talking about... I managed to find my old text books maybe I can start attending some seminars also.
