Help with my first interview in a medical setting!

Hi all! This is my first (or second) post on here, so let me introduce myself. My name is Stacey, I just graduated in September (hence the screen name) and I am in that awkward stage of studying for my boards and wishing I had a job. I live in GA, about 30 minutes away from Atlanta. I am very apprehensive about my first interview because I have never had a professional job, thus I have never had a professional interview. The extent of my work history is waitressing, daycare, and Starbucks ;o)
I am really regretting not having any medical experience under my belt because I have NO IDEA what they are going to ask me in my first interview. Will they ask scenario-type questions? Will they ask the stereotypical interview questions like "Tell me about a time you could have handled a situation better." I did have to have an professional-type interview with the entire nursing staff at my school in order to gain acceptance into the program. Each staff member scored my interview and the scores were totalled up and if the number was satisfactory, you passed that part of the admission process. That's about the extent of my experience in interviewing. I have a tendancy to get very nervous and insecure in an interview setting, and have been known to "draw a blank" so to speak.
If anyone can give me some interview pointers, I would be GREATLY appreciate it!
For the most part, I understand dress code, how to act, and so on...the main things I am nervous about are the types of questions asked and how to prepare ahead of time.
Thank you in advance and sorry for the lengthy post!! -Stacey

hey....im ashley
i was in the same exact boat as you...literally. i am 23 years old new grad just got my license 3 weeks ago and my past jobs were a waitress and nanny. and i sent my resume to a ton of places around me and actually got a lot of call backs some weren't what i was looking for but i did go on 3 interviews so far and all three basically offered me the position on the spot. I guess they really need nurses and the interview is your time to win them over since you have no experience. and on 2 of the interviews they just talked about there facility and like job descriptions and what your looking for. and the 3rd interview asked me a bunch of scenario questions and all the standard questions....why do you wanna be a nurse, why should i hire you, strengths, weaknesses so i guess there all different but the place that asked me a ton of questions was the most professional and offered the best. Im in central NJ....im not sure where you are but i hope this helps....you will be fine!! they really need nurses and you can be picky...GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
