first lpn check

I know there are a few threads like this. They are mainly directed to RNs. While that day will come I'm preparing to be a LPN. Besides the pay dif difference is pretty big between the two. so with that being said, what did you/ will you buy with your first paycheck?

A good 30% is going straight to savings so that we can leave this horrible neighborhood. Extreme poverty, gangs, violence and drugs galore. It'll b so nice to leave.

FULL TANK OF GAS. no more $20-$25 at the pump for me lol.

Maybe that's it. I'm so dead set on moving I don't wanna think of anything else

My first cheque? 10% to savings, then took the family out for a nice meal, then blew the rest on me. Shallow, I know.

But after that? 10% in savings, 50% or more to the government for my student loan (paid it back in less than 18 months) and the rest went to making life a bit more comfortable.

Do you mind if I ask what state you live in? I got my LPN in Georgia a hundred years ago and got my RN through Excelsior College. I don't remember what I bought with either first check....it probably went towards bills since my savings account still has an enormous amount of dust build-up. LOL!

I attended rhst. The school with the bad rep. I went to the Chester campus. Despite all the bad press. I had amazing instructors and I know my stuff

Oh ok when you take your nclex tell me how it goes bc I really need help knowing what to study I hope we can keep in touch since we live in the same area its really hard to find friendly nurses here

I know. I work at Manorcare as a CNA and I experience it everyday
