Educational Advice

I need some advice or word of wisdom. I just finished LPN school, and I do have college level schoolwork behind me and I want to go to RN school. However, my college grades in classes like A&P I and II are lousy, they are only C's. My college was very expensive and I didn't put in the time studying because I was working v. hard.
My grades in LPN school were v. good I have 90 average and nothing below a B+. I went to a community college, but they told me that I was a long shot getting into the program. Has anyone else had this problem or any advice?

I actually repeated A&PI and still got a C when I was in college, the school told me it was not worth the effort, to take it a third time.

The difficulty of science courses has a lot to do with the teacher and also your interest level. I wouldnt say just bc u got a C in it means you arent smart

If u did well in LPN school Im sure u will do well in RN school as well. I have run into the problem of waiting forever to get into RN school....I graduate in a few weeks. I wanted to Start the RN program in January but its too late to apply so it will be AT least next January before I could get in. Im at a point where I dont want to keep waiting and waiting to get into my nursing career bc I really want to get on with life and also would like to start a family in the near future and it would be easier to have all of this behind me. Due to these circumstances I have chosen to go thru Excelsior College, which is a distance education program where u earn your RN from home. You get course outlines and take the exams for each class one at a time and when u finish there is a 3 day clinical examination u must pass. The clinical is supposed to be the worst part but if u are well prepared for it u can pass. good luck with whatever you do, I would have preferred traditional school, but at least I can work full time and work on my RN on my own time.

See if there is a bridge program at the school you went to for LPN, it may have another name there some call it fast track. It's for current LPN's who want to become RN and the program usually last for a year.seynurse345]I need some advice or word of wisdom.
