To Continue as an LPN or get my RN

by jmking

I don't know about everyone else but I had a heck of time getting into nursing school period. The process took about 2 1/2 years. I graduated in March. Currently I work at mental health facility. I really like my job but would like to get my RN. I'm worried about not getting into RN school. It's the same darn process again. I've thought about the online stuff but I am one of those individuals who needs to sit in class room. Plus my husband would like us to move to Texas next year. What would you guys do?

I would continue on for the RN licensure. Even though it entails added responsibility, it also enables you to have more earning power and advancement opportunities.

I moved to Texas about 2 years ago from California, and many LVN-to-RN bridge programs are in my area with no waiting lists. I am in Dallas-Fort Worth.

If your desire is to become an RN, then, go for it. As stated, you will have more opportunities and money and bottom line, this is what YOU want.

Changing the initials from LPN to RN results in an immediate raise of over $8 an hour.
