Hi everyone,
I am an LPN looking to find a job in a hospital. Does anyone know of any hospitals in the Chicago land area that hires. Any tips on getting in? I have been a LPN for a year. I currently work on a skilled unit (Part time) and the ADON of a memory care unit. Currently, a pre-med student at Loyola. Getting my bachelors in Business Managment.
Thank you fellow nurses!!:)

Hospital systems in most major cities across the US have stopped hiring LPNs due to issues surrounding scope of practice. We wish you good luck with your search!

Focus on smaller hospitals and OP clinics.

Many times, LPNs who work in acute care in large cities have been there for sometime and they generally no longer hire LPNs. However, there are exceptions to the rule. If that LPN is working on completing her/his RN some nurse managers will make an exception. That was the case in the hospital were I retired from. A BA is business probably would not set up apart, although working on your BSN would.
