Can the NCLEX-RN be challenged by an LVN?

by glo16

Hello everyone!!!! One of my aunts has been working an an LVN for many years and she was wondering if the NCLEX RN can be challenged.....or does she need to do all the classes and stuff? I would think she would have to take the classes but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask....thanks!
Gloria

She cannot challenge to take NCLEX RN, now she might very well be able to clep out challenge some specific classes but that is about it.

Your aunt is not allowed to challenge the NCLEX. If her goal is to become an RN, she will need to attend an LPN-to-RN bridge program, either at a traditional college or through a distance-based school such as Excelsior College.

LPNs/LVNs are not permitted to challenge the NCLEX-RN, no matter how much work experience they might have.

No, she can't. She will have to find a way to bridge.

Onc, why do you always do that? It's so unnecessary and instigates conflict where none need be.

I'm sorry, it was not my intention to cause conflict, I was just agreeing with the previous comment. Maybe a bit too strongly.
