    LPN's cannot be a DON unless the Administrator is an RN and assumes responsibility..... However, LPN's make awesome ADON's.....

    I believe it is legal here,(IND.) if the amount of inhouse residents, is under 40. I worked as an acting DON, in a small facility. It was a great experience.

    The ADON is a LPN at my job in a LTC facility. The DON, however, is an RN. I was surprised too! lol
