California pay rate

Nurses LPN/LVN

So I live in Northern California right now and make $28 an hour no benefit of any type will be offered. I'm a charge nurse at a 62 bed LTC facility. I am really needing a change and want to move. Was looking at Santa Cruz cause they have lots of options. Was wondering if anyone knew their pay scale. Or of anywhere else I'd be making similar money. Please any suggestions I'm so emotionally burned out and need a new hope in my nursing career.

I work in sacramento at an acute care facility, make $64 after my per diem and noc differential. Base pay for a new acute care nurse at my hospital is $51 before any differentials. Leave your LTC facility---lowest morale job I had, I hated it

LVN- with 10 years with medical experience. As a nurse I've worked in pediatric, plastic OR recovery and now in L long term rehab and end of life care. The emotional toll is just to much on top of not being able to trust my co workers or CNA'S hating me cause I expect them to treat the elderly with respect.

The nurse who originally posted this thread is an LVN and, therefore, will not be earning the kind of money you make anytime soon.

Sorry I only noticed that after is commented. As an RN I was making $30 at a SNF in sacramento so I would say what you are making is good, but the environment is not good

I am a LVN. I work for a Hospice and Palliative care office out of Downey but live in the Inland Empire. They had patients in my area so I took the chance and left my job as a charge nurse at a snf. Its been over two years now and I do not regret it one bit. I made $19.70 starting off at the snf. I make $35 a hourly visit plus .50 a mil for gas. I usually have between 14 to 20 patients I see twice a week. I make around $1200 to $1600 a week with mileage. I make my own hours and Have no one over my shoulder all day. I'm not rushed to administer medications and I get to know each patient out of the comfort of their homes. I love my job. I do wish I had more chances to use more of my skills as I would in a snf or hospital, but will have to wait til my baby is a little older. Right now my hours work great for me. So if you move to southern cali look into home health or hospice and palliative. Pay is great and you really make a difference. Hope this helps.

That was my problem at the snf I worked for. The CNA's I had trust in quickly left to a hospital. Wish I could get into a hospital. Maybe once I get my BSN. I love being a nurse. There are way to many people in the health care field that should not be!

Correctional facilities(federal, state and counties)...multiple locations are recruiting...comparable salary, health and retirement benefits and some positions are offering sign on and retention bonuses

LVN 4 years exp. Most I've made is $28/hr at a sub acute care rehab, $21 doing Psych and $18 doing peds home health which is a lot less stressful.
