Average salary for LVN in Houston

Nurses LPN/LVN

Hi, I am thinking about going to school for an LVN and then I would like to bridge over to RN program because the waiting list for RN is sort of long. I was wondering what the average salary for an LVN was in Houston? I'm also currently going to school for an MA. I could not do the full time LVN program at the time I enrolled into MA program and I did not want to sit around and do nothing anyway. Thanks in advance.;)

I am in Fort Worth, approximately 260 miles north of you. I cannot tell you about Houston salaries since I'm not there. However, I am a newer LVN who earns $18.50 hourly at a nursing home. The average LVN salary range in Dallas-Fort Worth is $16 to $21 per hour to start.

I completed a medical assistant program 6 years ago and, frankly, it was a big mistake. I could not find a job that paid greater than $8 hourly. You might want to visit the Texas Nurses Forum to obtain an answer to your question on Houston LVN salaries. Good luck.
