anyone considering going back to school to become an RN?

  1. Hello. I was just wondering if anyone was considering going back to school and becoming an RN. If so how are you going to go about doing it. A bridge program? If so which one do you have in mind. Just curious. Thanks.

I'm currently back in school to get my ADN, through the local community college. Yes I'm bridging. It is tough after being out of school for so long. But the other students have accepted us and have been very nice. I'll be done in December hopefully. :hatparty:

[B]I just graduated from a LPN program back in May of 2004. I am finishing the last of my pre-reqs for a bridge program just started at my local community college. I'm going to try to get into the RN program come this next Jan, 2006. I'll be finished in Dec 2006. Wish me luck!

I'm going back...want to start this fall '05 but still haven't decided where or what type of program yet. I'm looking into a 1 year LPN to RN program but would unfortunately have to travel some & get used to less working hours/$$ while attending school ...lots of decisions to make!!

I am taking an Online LPN to RN program through the University of Rio Grande in Ohio. Its an 18 month program...MAYBE I'll be out of it by Aug. 2006.

I'm in my last sememster of an LVN program, I graduate in May. I will try *crosses fingers* to get into Microbiology Fall 2005 (it's the only class I need for the RN program). Then I'll apply for the LVN-RN brige that my communtiy college just opened up.

I'll keep working throughout school. Some think I should take a break but I'm worried that if I stop I'll never go back.

i have been an lpn almost 20 yr, and i am working on my rn with the college network. they send you the study guides, you study, then you take the test. you study and take the tests at your pace when your ready, and not before. when you complete all the courses, ( i only have 10 courses to go) you do your clinical in a 2 1/2 day weekend, then get ready for state boards, and that's it! the reason i only have 10 courses to go, is that i got most of my core at the local university here. after you get your core out of the way, you have nursing concepts 1-6, then foundations of professional practice, and that's if. they also have a video to help you get ready for your clinical, and if your not comfortable after seeing the video, that actually have a "clinical boot camp"! you even have a program advisor to help and guide you along the way. i really am glad i chose this direction to get to my rn. i have know several nurses that took this route and they are now rn's!

Please tell me more about this program. I am in SW Ohio and believe if I do need to visit the school for a few days for something they are a lot closer than Salt Lake City!

I did a search at ask.com and didn't see any info for the online nursing.

    Thanks in advance!

I have just started the RN program for Excelsior. I'm very excited about the program and the freedom it gives me by not having to be in the classroom during the day. Gail
