Any VA Hospital workers here?

I work at a residential addictions facility, about 15 minutes form home. I now have a job offer from the VA Hospital about 75 minutes from home, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., psych unit, about $300 a month in gas. Crappy salary is about the same. Is it worth the experience? I'm afraid I won't have time to study because I'll be sleeping all day after work. I'm an LPN taking RN pre-reqs. I'm weekend lead nurse at the residential facility.

Hi there! I've been at my current VA for a little more than 2yrs now. I just statrted on nights. The thing baout he VA is there is room for growth. Also, if you decide to another state, you won't have to apply for a new liscence, yours will be good in all 50states, as long as you transfer to another VA. Even though you will be spending the majority of the day sleeping, depending on if you have kids and how old they are, you may have down time while you are at work the you can study during. The other thing is remember, the VA is a federal job. You cannot beat the benefits of working there. Good luck =)
