Any LPN's out there working "private duty"

The home health cases where you stay with one patient for 8 hours? The home health threads seem to be centered on visiting nurses. Here in NJ the home health agencies are hiring for shifts for LPNs. Just wondering how it was.

I do this kind of work , but am called a nursing assistan (Im in australia).

I really enjoy working in the community, still very demanding work, but I have learnt alot, and had some wonderful experiences.

It has also worked well for me by fitting into my study schedule, I can work a 24 hour shift, and that is all I need to work for the week.

I do this. I am an LVN working PRN for an agency with pediatric cases. I float between 3 cases right now. I work 8,12 or 16 hour shifts. The job is perfect for me right now since I am in school full time - low stress, feel like a highly paid babysitter at times, and quite honestly the job is boring. The good thing is that the job pays really well. The kids I take care of might have trachs, on vents, or gastric feedings. They really are not "sick".
