I am a new graduate as of 6/12. I have been looking for working since then and I have finally landed two jobs. One is in a Skills Nursing Facility and I feel as if I have lost half of the information I learned in school. I know I can drag my books out but I wanted to see if any of you knew of any informative sites... some type of refresher courses. Games, Quizzes, etc ...

Thanks. I have goggled. I am asking in a community of those who may know some informative sites rather then click on multiple unhelpful ones after googling....

When I took the NCLEX I found a $8 app to use on my phone. I use it to review every now & then.

I would look for courses that give you CEUs and pick some that relate to your practice. Good Luck!

Florence Nightingale: Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion. A Nursing care comes in many forms. Sometimes it is the ability to make someone feel physically comfortable by various means. Other times it is the ability to improve the body's ability to achieve or maintain health. But often it is an uncanny yet well honed knack to see beyond the obvious and address, in some way, the deeper needs of the human soul.

Try downloading the medscape app they have alot of information and you can gear it toward you speciality and finally get the nursing for dummies book they proved to be very helpful to me way back when I started

Actually, before snapping, did you check out skill stat? It's actually quite helpful with EKG rhythms, an easy to lose skill.

Nursing isnt always black & white sometimes. Your greatest assests can be your fellow nurses. Dont be afraid to ask them. You learned the information from school, now all you have to do is apply yourself. We all had to start from the beginning Dont lack self confidence! A nursing home or hospital is a great place to start out; it will help build your skills & confidence. Oh & one more thing, always make nice with the doctors & CNP's...they have a wealth of knowledge to share

I too am a new grad/new hire - have you started training and orientation yet? I'm starting my job next week and in the same shoes trying to figure out how to make sure I 'know' all I need to but I feel just blank-minded.
