[you do not want to work at vermilion hosp!! They are presently in the process of installing spy camera's through staff areas..(not patient areas, but soley to spy on the staff) additionally, they have been bought out recently and the new company will be cutting the staffing plan in January. years, school nurse for 2years. I'll be in N.O. Chalmette area from april 22-29

planning to spend 2days in Lafayette to have an idea of the :balloons: area , never been to Lafayette, it would be my 2nd x in LA and i love it . Any suggestions/info on worksalary, homes, rent/buy, decent area would be greatly appreiated :balloons:

Lafayette is in the heart of cajun country...the food and the people are #1...there are several large medical facilities and also many ltc facilities...

getting a school nurse job may be a horse of another color, however, with so many nurses with school age children, these jobs, with time off when the kids are off, are hard to get...

hi i'm sue and i was born and raised in lafayette. i lived in many subdivisions/areas of lafayette and here are some of my faves:

Saints Street area (all the street names are saints and the neighborhood is adorable. lots of little 1940's houses kept up very well. can be pricey but a good deal can be found. its also close to many medical facilities and ULL.)

its been a while since i've lived in an apt. in lafayette so i'd have to recommend something newer like the ones in River Ranch. that place is beautiful and close to the Heart Hospital & Women's & Childrens Hospital.

Sorry i cant be of more help concerning price. its been so long since i've rented and honestly, it varies a lot.

-Sue
