New Grad Jobs

U.S.A. Louisiana

:hngon:hi everyone, i am a new grad living in plaquemines parish close to new orleans and surrounding area. i am looking for a job, thought it would be easy as pie, but i was wrong. i have my license and still don't have a job yet. can anyone give me any good advice on where to go apply besides what is in the paper and nola.com. i have applied to many places. i have seven years experience in doctors office as medical receptions, referral clerk, front desk receptionist, trained medical assistant, etc. i got an offer at ochsner but the pay is a slap in the face. can anyone suggest anything! i am interested in dialysis, is there any dialysis nurses that could give me some advice, and what other positions can lpns actually apply for besides at hospital, nursing home, & ltac. please help me! thank you so much for time.

I would apply online at all the hospitals...Ochsner, University, Touro, Children's, West Jefferson, East Jefferson, River Parishes; then follow up your application with a phone call a few days later. But the starting pay is going to be comparable to Ochsner; $22-23/hr range; ask if they will give you salary credit for your prior hospital/medical experience. All nursing schools follow pretty much the same semester schedules and graduation schedules, so maybe it's just that they are all inundated with applicants. Next class graduates in May...better get on it to beat them!

Thanks so much for the insight! Right now I am waiting for Davita Dialysis to call me this week. If I don't hear from them by 3 o clock on Monday I will give them a call. Really thank you so much for responding!
