Charity SON Fall 2012

U.S.A. Louisiana

Hello Everyone!

I know I'm early but I'm super excited to begin nursing school. I was wondering if anyone else here is planning to apply to Charity for Fall 2012? Are you done with your prereqs? Taken the HESI? What's your profile score?

I have taken all of my prereqs but it has been 6 years since I took A&P II lecture/lab so I'm taking it now at Delgado. I'm taking the lecture online and I go on campus for the lab. We have only done one exercise in lab so far and I already feel like its not going to be very easy. I took the HESI on Monday and I did pretty well so I'm done with that thank God!

I calculated my profile score and if I get an A in the A&P lecture I'll have 70 points. If I get a B or C, I'll have 65 points. I'm super nervous because when I talked to the admissions lady at Charity she told me the cut off tends to be a bit higher for the Fall semester than the Spring. From reading the forum, it looks like the cut off for Spring 2012 was around a 55 so I'm worried that the cut off for Fall will be like 75! :uhoh3:

Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet some of my future classmates!

Also- I went last semester to the open house. U can bring anyone. I have two kids that they entertained w coloring/ videos/ balloon art while I did the tour.

Ohh yea I remember you... That's funny! Oh ok I want to take my husband :) thanks for the info!

Im in for the fall!!

@sassy.bones congratulations!!! How did you find out? Did you go to the open house today?

Ohh sassy.bones I read your posts you were on a stand-by list just I was. I actually received a call on Wednesday from the head of admissions. It was a great feeling!! On Monday I'm turning in all my LSBN paper work but I'm still working on the medical requirements.... That stuff is sooo expensive! :/

I'm doing the same dropping off my papers this week...I'm so excited..but at the same time scared because I don't know what to expect...I wonder if it's a good idea to start getting uniforms...I feel like itll be one less thing to worry about come july

I did go to open house but it was basic info.

help! Anyone starting on CPR certification? I work m-f until 5pm and have class t/w/th nights for next two weeks. How long does it take and can I do it online?? Any answers would be appreciated!!

@StudygroupF12, I took my CPR class last night. It started at 5:30pm and we were done by 8:30. It was a nice class, I like how the instructor gave the class, very informative and clear. It was a small class, only 10 of us were there. At the end of the class we took a written test, in which we could only miss about 3 or 4 answers, but it was an easy test. Tomorrow (Wed.) I'm going to pick up my certification card. I'm not sure if I can give the name of the instructor I chose but you can PM me if you want it, I would def. recommend him, I really liked the class and actually my faculty advisor recommended him to me. He charges $35 for the class and $12 for the book.

Mamisu, where did you take it??

Studygroup, They have an online class through St Tammany hosp (don't know if you live over here or not), but you have to go in once to sign up, and go back on a different day to do the skills test. I'm sure other hospitals have it too.

I sent u a PM, I'm not sure if I can post names and contact numbers. @Phi823

Hello everyone!!! Nobody has been posting any comments, I kind of miss reading something everyday. Are you guys ready for turning in the health papers on Monday? Have you already done it? By the way... I received a letter of LSBN giving me the approval to take clinicals :) has anybody received letters from them yet??I can't wait to register for classes and clinical sites! We have about 2 more weeks! I'm planning to pick EJGH as my first choice, I hope I get :/
