Maybe my chaotic noc last noc has "mushied-up" my brain but you lost me! - Feb 19, '04 by berryugh what a hijacked thread, like someone said carry if you want. Here is my take if you work long enough in the current climate you will be named in a suit. I work in the with an outstanding group of physicans, nurse, and support staff but has 4 lawsuits pending, why cause people want money the easy way. examples: A lady who was LIVING IN A RENTAL STORAGE AREA was found near death. The scene showed she was living their (food, garbage and the such) claimed she had been locked in for several weeks. Just happened to be the 3 weeks after she was evicted from her home and she sued and won money from the rental company ***. a lady sues Mcdonalds because the hot coffee spilled on her and burned her (oh my god coffee hot suprise). I carry insurance because when we sit down at the big table the, doc and his lawyer, the hospital and lawyer, I want my lawyer with me. enough said.

IF you research the MacDonald's lawsuit you will find 2 things
We will never know what the award was
And MacDonald's had numerous complaints against them for SCALDING coffee
see www.lectlaw.com/files/cur78.htm
You forgot to tell us how long you have been in practice.

Do you realize that you have improved my stance? The money is there in the form of malpractice insurance just waiting to be taken.

I admit it...I couldn't help myself...I went to the website...
I'm curious though...
You think that advice from LNC, Nurses with their JD, other educated professionals in your career is unworthy because you doubt their ability to make an informed decision. (??!!??)
You doubt the advise by insurance providers because their words are tainted by their desire to sell "expensive" policies. ($80 a year...whew)
Yet you accept the advise of an attorney (man...THEY are trustworthy aren't they?!!?) who clearly wants to sell you his services. And is really saying that insurance is NOT ENOUGH...not don't buy it because it is useless.
But that's ok...you hve to make the best decision you can given the inforamtion you have.
As do the rest of us.
