I'm just beginning my research into this field. I was just wondering as a consultant does this mean that you can decide your own hours or days that you work. Could a person work another position and do this on the side?

Yes, if you are self-employed, you can set your own hours/days. But, in doing this, you must be rigid in keeping those hours/days. One thing with some LNCs...........they want to be their own boss, set their own hours, be flexible in when they market, work on cases, etc. You must have a schedule with minimal interference.
Yes, many LNCs are actively employed as a nurse to keep their clinical skills up especially if they serve as expert witness as well as LNC.
