I must have gotten very lucky to a certain degree. I sent out 200 brochures. Out of that. I got 2 cases from the same attorney. I drew up a contract with him first which he did sign. I did the first case and billed him. Unfortunately he shorted me $500 off my bill. He'd also asked me to get him two Testifying Experts. When I told him I charged for that he acted like he was going to have a stroke. Long story short, we ended our relationship as he was not willing to pay for services and I wasn't willing to work for free. Isn't it amazing that some attorneys will bill for every second of work they do but they will try to get the nurses to work for nothing?

I did get another attorney to contact me to do a chart review for merit as well as getting him a testifying expert. I'm hoping that I'll end up with a long term relationship with him as he said he works about 80 hours a week and he's a sole practioner.

So far my marketing has been sending out brochures as I have a full time job which does not allow me to do a lot of additional outside marketing time during business hours. I do know that listserves are a wonderful place to network.

I too had taken the Vicki Milazzo course and was wondering about going to the Vegas seminar next March. I'd wondered if a person really gets anything out of those things.

I just now joined this listserv and it does appear to be very good.

Hello Nurseconsultant. I add my welcome to the site and to the Legal Nurse forum.

I went to the VMI conference this past March year, but am considering attending the AALNC conference in Tampa in April. Like sirI said, it is a great opportunity to network.
