Hello Siri,
I am getting geared up to do my first follow-up calls next week. Thanks for the great script examples! I also went to my first legal conference yesterday and will be following up for a few attornys I met there. It was a great networking opportunity....I sat in between 2 attorneys, exchanged pleasant conversation and then asked if I could send them some info. They where very receptive. I also had lunch with another attorney. The firm who organized the conference employs a LNC. I introduced myself to her and she was very warm and receptive. Gave me 2 firms to contact and told me to let them know she referred me. She also asked for some business cards...she said attorneys will call and ask her to help on their cases but she must decline as she is employed by a firm. I received alot of encouragement from her...she said our nursing services are in demand and attorneys need help with medically related cases....especially Personal Injury. Just wanted to pass this on.

Hello, annare,

Yes, those legal conferences are great places to market. Good job.

I hope things are going well for you.

Hello, rn4unva,

You can join the AALNC and be included in the directory. Excellent resource. There are other list serves as well. But, check them out to be sure they are on the up and up. Some are not.

Hi,
I am wondering about the marketing. Does anyone have ideas on the pros and cons of using a picture in any of your marketing tools? If you suggest using a picture, which items would you put the picture on?
I have been to various CLNC's websites, some use pictures and some do not. Any experience in this area as to whether it is helpful or not?
Thanks so much for the input.

What type of picture are you wanting to utilize in your marketing tools? Give me an example.

Yes, some authorities tell you not to utilize images on your website; others say it makes no difference.

Now, cutsey pictures - no.

If you will, give me an example of what image you are considering in your marketing tools and how that would tie into the tools themselves.

The only image I utilize in my marketing tools is my business logo.

Actually I prefer not to use a picture at all, professional or otherwise. The reason I asked about it is because I have seen pictures used on some CLNC's websites.
Also, on the NACLNC Directory oneof the options in choosing how to view different CLNC's: Show only profiles with pictures, and I have seen a couple who do have pictures.
This is why I was wondering if they maybe, should be used?
My thoughts on the subject are: If you use a (prof) picture on your marketing tools, it may appear that there is only one member in the company, and if there is no picture, it may look more professional as a 'company' that involves more resources available to the company than just the owner.
But, if someone can provide some input that may make a difference in success of marketing, I am definitely open to the 'picture' issue.

I see. You mean your own picture.

I suppose if you create a brochure, you could place your picture on that. I've seen nice professional brochures from both LNCs and attorneys. And, I've seen office staff on business cards. But, other than that type of image, I see no need for pictures incorporated within the marketing tool. I cannot recall ever seeing a picture of an LNC on their marketing tools except as I pointed out in a brochure.

I see many websites of LNCs and attorneys who utilize professional pictures of themselves or and/or their corporate staff.

By placing pictures on websites (the individual LNC), it does give the person viewing the site an idea of with whom they might be contracting.

I suppose it's an individual choice.

Hello Siri and everyone! I am so so so glad to have found this thread! I have made the commitment to be a VIP at VMI and do the March 2008 6 day in Orlando(and 2 day apprenticeship). To those of you experienced LNC's: What is a realistic expectation for 1st 6 months to 1 year of being an LNC and number of cases if one markets consistently and effectively? I am only working 16 hours a week on a busy Med surge Gyn (with Oncology) floor (my choice) and will devote the other days of the week to my "new career". I have seven years experience and am a "type -A go getter kind of woman" who would love this challenge!!! I work for a large Level 3 trauma teaching hospital and have been exposed to many a "teachable" moment with the residents.I love to scour through the charts and figure things out..this seems like a perfect career to do that and combine the two. My other question is:if I am willing to not be a "stay behind the scenes" girl how realistic is it for me to market other markets and states? I live close to the SC border so NC and SC are close...but can one expect to do this via fax and fedex to other states??? Thank you in advance for any advice. I am most grateful.

P.S. Siri, please pm me with the software info when you get a moment! Thanks!
