After reading this thread and doing some other research, I'm pretty certain LNC is not right for me right now. I need 'easy money' presently (and, yeah, I'm great at what i do, so i do consider staffing at a dialysis unit 'easy' ). I have young children and a big mortgage. The marketing and uncertainty at the beginning of this endeavor would be too stressful at this phase in my life. And i strive for a long happy low-stress life.
It might be a great option for me in a few years, though!

Thanks again, momo

PS i suggest keeping this thread alive for other lookers and newbies...

Hello, again, mo-mo,

I posted a reply to the other thread.

I have to admire you in that you realize this career choice is not easy and takes a lot of work in the marketing department.

Whenever you want to revisit this, just post here and/or send me a pm. I'll be happy to assist you.

This thread is already a sticky and will always be at the top for all to have to refer!!!!

Good luck with whatever you have planned.

I am not giving up because I think Maine is slow to pick up on this skill. I'm devoting full time to getting my business going so hopefully something will happen before I strave. (LOL only kidding)

Good Luck

Hello, Skycare,

What type of technique(s) are you utilizing? Phone calls, intro letters with follow-up, Cold Calls?

I will be happy to assist you if you like. Let me know.

No, don't give up - persistence!!!! It will definitely pay off!!!!! You have the right idea.

I am an RN with 14 years experience. I will be attending the 6-day seminar plus the apprenticeship seminar following as a VIP. How well will these seminars prepare me for the real world. My seminars are in Vegas in October; just got the core curriculum and DVD's for prep. I live in rural SW AS and plan to market, for sure in Phoenix, possibly Tucson, and San Diego (I'm licensed in 5 states). Will focus in Phoenix to start and if I don't get good responses will do the other two locations. How helpful/effective are the techniques taught in the apprenticeship, and do I need to do additional marketing besides what they teach you?

Hello, Ana,

Good to read that you will be taking the course in October.

The course will give you the basic education as LNC. You will receive all that you need during the 2-day Apprenticeship to get started. After that, it is up to you to apply everything and adapt it to your own business.

You will need to develop your own way of doing things. Yes, you learn of several techniques, but these will need to be tweaked, refined, changed, deleted, added to.....as you go. What works for one client will not for the next and what works one week will not the next. Takes persistence and a strong desire to succeed. I will not lie to you, it's probably the hardest job I've ever encountered.

One thing; you do not need to be licensed as RN in every state to market/develop cases. Hold a current, unencumbered RN license in the state in which you reside. That's it. You can market nation-wide if you so choose.

Good luck with the course and if I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many are LNCs and have not received formal LNC education.

Sure, you can proceed w/o the education/certification.

I don't personally advise it, but that is the RNs individual decision.

I am interested in any software programs to aid me in my Legal Nurse Consulting business- any recommendations for a program that would make it easier for me to create visual diagrams or timelines to use as jury exhibits etc? I appreciate any input any of you have.
Thanks!

I am so glad you mentioned the e-mail information. I have been wondering myself if it is all right to e-mail an introduction letter to an attorney's office. I attended the VM course in May and have sent snail mail letters to offices, with no results. I am trying to save money (and the environment) and had considered sending letters via e-mail. I contacted the VM mentorship line (I am a VIP) to question the advisability of this practice and the response was to review the pages in the Apprenticeship manual. Well, I already had and that didn't provide me with the answer I was looking for.

Do I need to establish an initial contact with the attorney prior to e-mailing them (so as not to appear to be "Spamming" them)?

Thank you so much for the informtation - I have genuinely enjoyed this forum
