- 1Apr 4, '12 by mickey56I am a critical care nurse. Recently, a coherence patient tried to hit me because he was angry. Family awared and thought it was ok to do so.
I filed an incident report. The physcian and our Don talked to him.
Accoding to NJ law, assaulting a healthcare worker is a felony.
I want to know can I still charge the patient for assault after he leaves the hospital ?
Is it legal to kep hia address for persecution purposes ?

Your other questions are best answered by someone credentialed to practice law in your state. Perhaps you can try an attorney to see if they would give an over the phone consult or your local police dept?
