AALNC conference

by NYPat

HI-
I took the RN Market class two years ago and am finally looking to launch a Legal Nurse practice. I recently joined the AALNC. Is anyone attending the AALNC conference this month? Is it worth the cost to help with a start up and launch and to network? My start up budget is limited and I am trying to make the most educated decisions as the outlay for the RN Market class was significant and in retrospect probably not the best "fit" for me. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Pat

Hi Pat. I attended last year in Tampa and thought it was a good conference. They have a first time attendee session that was interesting. I am not sure what the RN Market class is but the majority of the LNC's didn't seem to appreciate any other certification besides their own LNCC. The others were referred to as "from the dark side" at times, kind of strange. I will be attending again this year, even though I am "from the dark side" myself, since it is in the state that I live in, and only 30 minutes away, so it is convenient. Don't get me wrong though, they are a great, fun loving group and make you feel quite welcome.

I also attend my local AALNC luncheon meetings that are given every other month. I am hoping that once they see my face enough, I will fit in!

Pat, welcome. I am attending the National Conference, and I am one of the speakers. Yes it would be a good experience for the new or experienced LNC. Besides the program the networking oppourtunities alone make it a valuable, sometimes money making experience. Get some business cards done up and a resume or CV of your nursing experience. You might find cases, or jobs if you are so inclined. I think you will have a great time. John

Pat,
Did you decide if you were going to go to the conference?
