Re: Good TEAS score?
Thank you so much! I already have my application ready to go (but I'm waiting until the beginning of August to send it in). For you or anyone else out there: do you think it's better to hand deliver all my stuff to Charity or is it safe to send it in the mail when the time comes? I hear they can be a bit disorganized. Thanks!

Re: Good TEAS score?
I sent mine in through the mail and didn't have a problem. I know others did the same too without any problems. What classes do you have left to take? Has the spring 09 application deadline passed b/c if not you may be able to get in for that time.

Re: Good TEAS score?
Yeah, Spring '09 passed at the end of January... I have some classmates that applied for that class (if you go to Delgado City Park - you know if they have a life otherwise, they're not really "friends"). If you're out there from plesaA & P 10am-10:50 MWF Spring semester class - PM me and let me know who you are and if you made it (if it's "you," I sat right behind you and asked alot of dumb questions)!!!! I was so scared to take the TEAS, I didn't sign up until March and took it yesterday. I already have a bachelor's degree and found out that my English wouldn't cut it (private college: our only choice was to take 101 S or U). I don't like my grades my first time through math and psych so I'm retaking both this summer (I was a music major the first time through - I really didn't care!)
In other words, the pre-reqs will be done at the end of summer session. In the fall, I am taking A & P II, Math 128 (which was suggested to me by the math advisor if I plan to eventually get a BSN), and ENGL 102. Everything else is done.
You guys are the best! Thanks again!

Re: Good TEAS score?
I took all my classes in Slidell. I want to let you know that I was advised to take Math 130 if I wanted to pursue a BS degree because some colleges won't accept Math 128. There are a couple that do, not sure which colleges, but I wanted to be on the safe side and just take 130 to get it out the way and be done with my Maths. I finished the class with a B. It was a hard class for me and I even considered dropping it by mid term but was advised to hang on and not drop. I managed through it and believe me, the end result was a great surprise! I would have dreams of that Math, that's how much I worried about it. I'm done with all my pre-reqs as of this past spring so I'm gonna take a break and relax my brain to reve up for nursing. I need to have a fresh mind that's willing to absorb a lot of information!
Good luck with your classes for the summer. You will find a lot of good information on here that will help you also.

Re: Good TEAS score? Wow - Sounds like my end result with my A & P I lab this past semester (pulled an 'A' out of I-don't-know-where!) Anyhow, all I see with 130 is "Pre-Calculus." I was bad at both pre-calculus and calculus in high school (not "bad," just a 'C' student). Is it that bad? I was advised to take 130 also if I wanted to continue past ADN) which I do) but my college math (that I took at my previous college and got a 'B' in) counts as MATH 151 - Finite Math - according to 2 separate advisors in the math/science department. They gave me credit for MATH 151 and had me take it to the registrar - you think that might help? Like I said before, I was a music major... I took what was called "Applied Math for the College Student" during my first degree - I didn't think it could apply as "Finite Math!" Oh well, I'll just stick with 118 this summer, see if it really is easy for me and go from there! Maybe take 128 in the fall and 130 in the spring (If I DO get accepted after fall semester I am going to be so bored!). I was given the "go ahead" to take any math I wanted, but, in all honesty, the math portion of my TEAS was only in the 70's... Thanks again for your kind words of encouragement! Ugh, decisions, decisions, but I bet anything I'm making mountains out of molehills as I usually do. I HOPE to be celebrating my acceptance with you come the end of December! | | No. 8 |

Re: Good TEAS score?
What exactly does the science portion of the TEAS consist of from the test you took?
I've read what it covers, but from what I've read from other people, the science portions are not all the same.
So were there more chemistry questions, more biology questions, or physics questions?

Re: Good TEAS score?
My science portion was all over the place. I even got rock questions! and I had a question about the faults that cause earthquakes. I studied from the Kaplan study guide and I didn't pass. I took the TEAS for the first time 9/23/09. So I have decided to give up nursing. I was going to do the LPN program and then bridge to the RN program but I have changed my mind.
Get the ATI book and study, study, study.
Good Luck!
