I will also be starting in January. I am waiting to get my Hep B titer after Sept 11 to turn in my paper work. I haven't gotten my orientation information in the mail yet, but I do believe it is around October.

Apparently my advisor didn't submit a paper that we had to sign at the advising meeting for myself and some other students. We were locked out from picking our classes. I called the registration office to find out what was going on and was told I wasn't the only one.

I was sitting at my computer at 8:50. By the time I was able to finally choose a course, it was 9:20 and all that was left was Northshore hospitals and Oschner in Kenner. So I went with Oschner in Kenner since I live on the Westbank. I'd hoped for University, but I'm staying positive and believing that it was divine intervention. Maybe I will have the most wonderful instructor ever!! I understand that we won't be at the hospital much for the first semester anyway, so I'm not really worried about it......

that was my third choice if I could not get University or Touro so when is your pharmacology lecture? But are you or anyone going to the meet and greet on Nov 14th 9-12 where u meet the dean and instructors? But I can't wait to meet everyone plus I priced all the books on Amazon and Delgado website lets just say EXPENSIVE!!! amazon $637 and Delgado $808 and thats not including clinical uniforms and accessories....

I'm buying what I can from Barnes and Noble... I have there membership card thing (it was $25) and it gives you the member price...

I'm kind of just gradually buying books and I just bought the Mosbys dictionary needed for 112 and I paid 31 bucks with my member discount ... at the book store it was 35 used, but I think it was the same amount as amazon.

but its definitely worth looking into

Welcome Spring 2010!

I will be starting Basics in January. I was set to begin this semester but due to personal problems, I was only able to take Pharm. I've aced every test so far and I'm very happy with my decision.
If you are taking the day section of Pharm - the text is really unnecessary. Save yourself the money and if you *must* have a text, the old version will suffice. The notes are excellent, really don't bother with the text.
I suggest purchasing a Blackberry or Iphone, even a used one on Ebay. There is "Epocrates" and "Skyscape" phone programs that are great supplements to the pharmacology and will help in the clinicals, only certain smartphones will run those apps though.

Charity so far seems very well put together, I really enjoy everyone there.
I'll be at University for the evening section.

Since my feet are wet for the program, I encourage anyone with questions to contact me and I will try my best to assist you.

See you at orientation!!

Thanks for the insight. Our tour guide also said she thought Pharmacology was easy. If we can get by without the text, that would be gravy............good luck this semester, and yes see you at orientation.....
