I passed NCLEX: given a PL license?

U.S.A. Kentucky

I took and passed the NCLEX-RN on Thursday. I verified my license on KBN, and I have been issued a provisional license. It states that if I need my license before June 1st to call. I am going to call at lunch, but was wondering if anyone has any idea I am not issued my RN license as it should be.

I don't know the answer but want to follow this so I can know what the answer is once someone posts it!:lol2:

I may be able to give some insite. First off, you should have been given a PL when you graduated from your program and it should show the date it was issued on your KyBN application status. In my case, I was issued a PL on May 3, 2012 when I graduated my program. I took my NCLEX-RN yesterday May 21, finished with 75 questions and got the "good pop up" from the PVT. This morning, my application status says "5/22 RECVD NCLEX RESULTS, IF YOU NEED YOUR LICENSE ISSUED PRIOR TO JUNE 1, PLEASE CALL...". I tried calling all morning and I can't get anyone. I am assuming I passed but they may be closed for primary elections on the 22nd, but I would venture to guess that they are saying if you need it by June 1st they might expedite it, if not, they will get it done in normal time. I hope this helps :) Please post back what you find out when you talk to them

I have emailed the board multiple times and finally Rachel Williamson called me back today. She is holding everyone's license that have passed recently until June 1. If she were to issue us all our license now, it would expire and be due for renewal October of this year. We would be required to pay $50 renewal fee and obtain 14 CE's by then as well. If she waits until June 1, our license will be valid until October of 2013. She said we should see our license # around lunch time on June 1. So in all actuality they are doing us a huge favor, I just wish they would explain this in writing somewhere and we were not all left stressing that we have missed something!!! Rachel also said that by issuing the PL we were still able to work of course and if we needed our RN # before June 1, she could issue it you would just have to go through renewal in October 2012.

That's the same information she gave me this morning, and you are right, they are doing us a huge favor doing it that way. Like you said, I agree with you completely, it would have made sense to put that information on the site or somewhere to give us a clue as to what's going on, lol!
