Just thought I would start a new thread about Galen. Anything and everything Galen can be posted here! Please feel free to share, or ask questions!

I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, and am going crazy:bugeyes:! Hopefully, I will be starting July 27th.:yeah:

No problem! :)

Just wanted to let anyone in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area that you can get Tb test, MMR, and Varicella at the Clark Cty Health Department-Tb $5 and the shots are $2 each. I called the Floyd Cty HD and they are not giving Tb tests at this time. The Urgent Health behind Kohls in New Albany can do your PE for $30.(they can do the Tb test and shots but it costs alot more)

I was wanting to know if anyone who is a attending Galen right now could let me what they are talking about when they say student mailboxes They said that is where they would put our CPR card but I am not sure what they are talking about.

Hi jsadler827! I am currently a student at Galen. The mailboxes they are talking about are in filing cabinets located at both campuses. They aren't really mailboxes. There should be a file folder inside the filing cabinet with your name on it and that is where you will receive stuff from the school. Hope that helps! :)

yeah that helps I was not sure what it was Thanks

You're welcome! :)

I'm applying to Galen for the bridge program for the july 2010...Is there anyone here that are coming from out of state to attend the louisville campus?
I have applied to Galen to start the April 2010 LPN-RN program and I live out of state. I sent my application in already :lol2:and I took the PAX-RN entrance exam :yeah: Now I am just waiting to see if I get accepted to the program.:uhoh3::up::nurse:

I just recieved acceptance package and am unsure how to go through financial process...i do qualify for FASFA but the difference will have to be borrowed on student loans...I've never borrowed a loan...so how much do they loan and does it cover only the difference or do they give you more?

daydreams, you will need to call the school and set up a financial aid appointment with a financial aid advisor. When you meet with them they will explain everything to you. They are very helpful! I had to get student loans, but I didn't get very much help because of mine and my husband's income from the previous year put together. It all depends on your income and they always go by the previous year's income. Good luck! :)

I applied back in Nov.2009 for the April 2010 class but as of today I still have not heard anything from Galen. When did you apply? what was your PAX-RN score ( if you don't mind me asking)? and have you received your acceptance letter yet? and last if they do not accept you to the school do anybody out there know would you still get a letter letting you know that you application was denied?:crying2: Waiting and getting nervous  anxiety level is getting high:heartbeat, blood pressure is getting high...I hope I will hear something real soon.:)

Oh really, well I guess thats not too bad. Thanks for the response!

I applied back in October 2009 & took my test in October, but I still have not received my packet. I've been waiting patiently but want to know now since I have waited so long. I'm tempted to call the school to see where it is. I applied for the LPN Day program & received a 126 on my entrance test so I'm hoping it was good enough to start in April.:uhoh3:
