U.S.A. Kentucky

Hi all! Just wanted to see if there are any other BCTC applicants out there. I'm getting super anxious about hearing whether I got in or not, and didn't know if anyone else wanted to discuss our waiting time! Best of luck to everyone. ?

AH I see. Im always jumping ahead n things, Lol Thank You!!!

Does anyone on here know of any alternates that have gotten into the Lawrenceburg program? I still haven't heard anything and would love to know how many alternates they have already called.

Just a heads up in case anyone is still reading this thread. The book list is out for fall, and I am in the J003 section and found everything at a bigger discount on Amazon.

Thank you soo much! I'll be looking at the book list!!!!

I'm looking into BCTC's ADN program at the Lawrenceberg campus for Spring 2014. I started the foundation classes for the BSN @ EKU this past Spring 2013 and was unsuccessful, so therefore I did not make it into the Clinical Sequence. It was the med math that killed me--apparently EKU is one of the only nursing schools that doesn't allow you to use a calculator on med math exams (which weaved a lot of us out). The passing score was an 80% and I made a 78% after 3 attempts. I also felt like we completely rushed through the actual clinical application parts (including med math) and spent most of our time on nursing communication, theory and research. Not much of our time was spent in the lab actually practicing hands-on skills.

Because of this, I have decided to apply to an ADN program because it will focus more on applied nursing skills, then do the RN to BSN bridge later on. I was going to apply to EKU's ADN program, but apparently you have to pass the same med math test without a calculator. I'd love to apply to Midway's program, but it's a long drive from where I'm at, plus it's quite pricey. The only courses I need for BCTC's program are the Medicaid Nurse Aid class and Developmental Psychology (which I plan on taking this coming Fall 2013 @ BCTC in Danville), then hopefully I can start the nursing classes in Lawrenceberg. I'm thinking about also applying for the LPN program in Danville just incase I don't make it into the ADN program.

I'm starting to get super excited about this August...still have to get all of my supplies and do my background check, but I'll get those done this month!

Hey everyone .. I got accepted into the 2013 Fall nursing program at lawrenceburg campus. Have any of you completed the background check yet or any other stuff for enrollment? I wish I could buy my books now.. but they're not available at the bookstore yet. Did anyone set their clinical day for Friday? I set mine that day. :)

I need to do my background check too.. I am excited as well! I wish I could buy my books right now.. but they're not available at the bookstore.. plus I don't know which book to get. I didn't see anything on blackboad yet for the class. Do you know where are clinicals will be held at?

I got in to the Cooper location, and our book list is on the bookstore's website, not blackboard. My clinicals are on Wednesday, but I'm not sure where they are. I'd say since my classes are in Lexington, that the majority of them will be here.

WooHoo!!! Another Lawrenceburg student! I've done my background check. I still have to do the chickenpox titer and drug screen. I also am scheduled to do my CNA classes the first two weekends in August. I scheduled Saturday clinicals and have no idea where they will be, hopefully Georgetown.

Does anyone have their financial aid posted to your student account? I'm getting nervous, because nothing has been posted yet... and i'm pretty sure I had everything in on time. :wideyed:

Mine posted on Monday, and my tuition bill posted yesterday. Yours should post soon. I called the financial aide office a couple of weeks ago and they were working on financial aide packages then. The only thing on mine that didn't post was my 6 credit hours that UK is paying for since I'm an employee.
