RUMOR FYI: Rumor going around that the RN program might be going to 18 months. I personally think that it is BS because the RN program just went from 12 months to 15 months. I doubt they are going to change it again but you never know.

One of the main complaints from people in my class was that 3rd quarter was too much classwise. You had micro, mental health nursing, peds/ob, ethics, all in one quarter. Some of us suggested lengthening things from 12 months. Nice to know they listened. If they give the option of 15 to 18 months I'd take it. 12 months sounds good, but unless you have a lot of transfer credits it can easily get to be too much. Just my opinion.

I think if it does go to 18 months the first 3 months are just going to be pre reqs... so if you already have them done you don't have to go the first three months.

That would be the smart way to do it LOL. We always complained that the non-nursing classes should have been in the first quarter with the last three will the nursing classes. Microbiology was just the most intense class I've ever taken, and I've taken it twice once at KY State and at Galen. It might just help the feeling of class overload most of us had 3rd quarter. Nursing school is supposed to be tough, but I knew something was wrong when I couldn't get a B. Just a note...I've had the best grades ever in nursing school. I was one of those C-D students in high school and early college days. The fact I graduated on the President's List was amazing to me to say the least.

We had heard the 18 month rumor today and asked Dara about it....she said no way, it was staying at 15 or 18 whichever the student preferred. I have micro next quarter and am not looking forward to it at all!!!!!!!!! But thankfully they did listen and we only take 2 other classes along with it in the new 15 month program!

Question: (always lol) I plan on applying for January... when should I actually send in my application? Also, IF I was to apply for October and find it too soon to go to school after the delivery of my baby would I be able to change it January?

Personally I wouldn't apply yet. I applied a quarter or two before. I also decided to wait a quarter when I was accepted and they said it was no problem.

I say go ahead and apply. Your app is good for a year, so you may-as-well get it done and over with before the baby comes. As a matter of fact, get everything you can done now. This way, you KNOW for sure that you have been accepted (positive thinking), and you can plan accordingly.

I have been making plans to start in July, but I don't even know if I've been accepted yet! Hopefully, I'm not being overly optimistic!
