i don't know what county you live in but, i live in douglas and i called the srs building they didn't have a clue, so i called the workforce center and they transfered me to the "heartland works program" which is basically as far as i understood the same as wia. although you can get a grant if you meet eligiblity guidelines but it only helps when you get accepted into ns, doesn;t apply while you are doing prereqs. i don't know if this program is done by county or statewide. i hope this helps, because i was very happy to hear there was other grants for school other than just pell. good luck!

Thanks I live by Liberal so I'll just call SRS and see what I can find out. I am like you, it would be so nice to get some other help. I have been on my own since I was 17 with no parental help. I want to be a nurse more than anything so whatever I have to do I will.

Anyone interested in learning about WIA training programs in your state may find this link helpful http://www.careeronestop.org/WiaProviderSearch.asp

Click on your state and then look for "Education" or "Training Programs" or something similar. Sometimes it is helpful to contact the school directly and "work backwards" from there. Good luck!
