I guess my question is this...Have you or do you know of anyone who at my age has persued a career in nursing? Extra points if male.

Hi: 34? too old? I must share with you that i went into nursing after having been in Viet Nam then being a police officer for 17 years. I had a degree in another field so i didn't have to do any prereqs. I went to nursing school, got my BSN degree and began a new career at age 39. I am now 62, have had diabetes, surgery for cancer and a 6 vessel bypass 5 6ears ago. Oh, I almost forgot, I joined the Army as an RN and an officer upon graduation with waivers and retired from the army as an officer. I am now 61 years old and continue to work as a Travel Nurse. Too old? it is all in your mind. A recent statistic shows that the current trend for graduating nurses is that most are foreign, receive an Associates degree and are aged 50. Hand in there. Take the plunge.
